I hear you Blaire. I'm the same. My mother was an addict and it ran through her family. My parents divorced when I was 6 months old. My mother got custody. It was several years after the divorce she got into drugs via her sister. Needless to say due to her habit of leaving me with whoever I ended up being raped as a kid. Other abuses happened as well but now I just consider it a fact of my childhood and consider myself a survivor and not a victim. For me there is a difference. It was a very bad experience and I wouldn't wish it on anyone but it made me stronger. Good luck on your journey Blaire.

It's a shame no one tries to understand religion before writing it off. There is a reason why Islam says it is haram. Islam only prohibits the kinds of things that harm the body and society as a whole. Islam promotes that which is good for the body and society. People should look into Christianity and Islam before writing them off. God is like a parent who will put rules in place to protect us. We can choose not to listen, but we can't claim God (or the parent) didn't care after we chose not to turn to God/religion first (sometimes God won't stop you from doing something not because He can't but because we have free will). God will only interject if it is not the time for something, your action will affect another person/issue which will change the course of your life or another life or maybe you needed to go through something to bring you closer to God. I hope this brings this person closer to God and they can have something greater and better than what this life could offer to make up for the suffering here. These doctors try to play God, you know from any trans surgery, successful or not, that your skeleton, DNA, chromosomes etc don't change. Scientists can't recreate the human body, they can't recreate the sky, the universe, it runs like clockwork. That wound closing, the Cinderella effect once you stop taking meds, that's the human body course correcting.
